SPECIES
There are several thousand species of coffee trees but two are generally cultivated for trade purposes: Coffea Arabica, commonly known as Arabica and Coffea Canephora commonly known as Robusta

ORIGINS
The most told story about coffee is the legendry goats herdsman Kaldi which traces coffee origin to Ethiopia. Much as this is correct for arabica coffee, it is also true that Uganda is also the birth place for robusta coffee.

QUALITY FACTORS
Although the genetic make up of the coffee tree will largely affect the quality of the coffee beans, other several factors equally impact on the bean quality: soils, farming practices, processing method, storage and packaging and more importantly the roasting technique and skill. This great coffee is grown in the most unique microclimate on Mt. Elgon in the ecological zone of 1800m above sea level. This nutrient rich volcanic soils also host the wonder underground River SISIYI. These features indeed make Bulago 5900 exotic and rare.
